Late Summer/Lammas 2010

Madron : Great fertile mother Goddess, we call to You
Come, come with Your energies of the harvest and well-being
With Your all embracing radiance of loving acceptance
Lady, Your blessings like honey sweetens our summer and bring all delight
We thank You for the gift of life You give us every day,
Come be with us at this time of grain and thankfulness.
Ker ; Abundant Lady of Lammas,
Bless us with Your golden cornucopia
With gifts that are our joys and our challenges,
Shower us with love, wealth, friendship and healing
Nourish us with Your sweet milk of forgiveness
And open our hearts in gratitude for all Your beauty.
Glitonea, Morgen of Avalon
Walk with us and guide us on our journeys into ever closer connection to You
and the sacred land of Avalon

LammasSHE LAYS HER BODY DOWN, Golden in the summer sun, fruiting with the fullness of life. Bedecked with flowers Her hair lies flowing, a blistering of roses. Hollyhocks, fox glove and poppies red are the freckles on Her skin. From Her firm breasts the White springs flow, and from between Her legs the Red ; nourishing the world. On Her face the moon- and sun-light dance, weaving long light into Her eyes. Round and soft Her belly and thighs, Rose and Sandrabirthing into being dreams and green things good to eat. She shelters animals and children in the nook of Her arm and knees, the webbing of Her fingers is home to fairies and butterflies sleep between Her toes, while Her ear houses hives of honey bees. Magic emanates from Her like heat-haze. Holding all of life within Her gentle smile, She welcomes us : Her lap the land on which we walk or place our head to rest as in our mother’s safe embrace. Her gentle love accepts us all, our triumphs, glory, joy, the places where we feel we’ve failed, are small and scarred or full of fear, the ‘not-enough’, the ‘bad’, the ‘lost’, She welcomes us as easy as the breeze scented with stock on milk ponds on a summer eve. Forgiveness is Her gift, She shines Her all accepting light; feel how sweetly Her astounding love can fill each part and wash us clean. Her Grace dissolves karma, brings relief and the challenge to forgive ourselves and all who held a lesson up to us as mirrors of our own soul’s path. To be with Her is to know bliss and sweet surrender in all ways, so all there is, with every breath, is gratitude that sings Her praise.

In this Lammas newsletter we give thanks to all the abundance of blessings Goddess brings us in our lives, to the connection between us, to the beauty of being alive and sharing an other year of celebration in Her temple and during the annual Goddess Conference, this year honouring the Goddess of Love. We hope you will enjoy the contributions of all who’ve given freely to the making of this newsletter, and would like to invite you to support your Glastonbury Goddess temple by becoming a temple Madron or Friend. You can find out more about how to on the back page of this newsletter. May the Blessings of the Abundant Great Mother Goddess be with us al this golden Lammas time. In love and gratitude.

Blessed be,
Katinka, Priestess of Avalon
